Birth Doula Support
Our team of Birth Doulas are trained professionals who provide emotional, physical and informational support to women and their partners during pregnancy and birth
Your doula will be by your side during the entirety of your labor and delivery. Using a birth doula decreases your chances of a cesarean and has been known to shorten labor and decrease your need for medication.
Your Birth Doula package includes 2 prenatal meetings before your baby is born to learn all of your hopes and expectations for labor, and we are available throughout your pregnancy to address all your questions, needs and concerns . Your doula is on call 24 hours a day, three weeks before and two weeks after your due date (weeks 37-42).
Your Half Moom Birth Doula Will support you in the following ways:
- Emotional support before, during and after labor and birth
- Support in laboring at your home or in the hospital
- Assistance with writing a birth wish list according to your preferences
- Share physical comfort measures that she or your partner can provide during labor and birth such as light touch massage
- Guiding you in advocacy for yourself during birth
- Helps you understand how labor is progressing
- Breastfeeding education and assistance
- Photos of birth and newborn if desire
